Dear Parents, Wow! Can you believe that it is the last week of school! Where did the year go? I just wanted to thank all of the parents and children for making this a wonderful year for me! I will miss this class, everyone was terrific. I hope that everyone has a safe and fun summer! In reading we will be finishing up the last book and I will be reviewing skills with them in the last two weeks of school. We will be reading with a 3rd grade class this week. I am sure that the kids will have a nice time reading and listening to stories. We will be continuing to write in our journals and I have a special for them to keep as a keepsake. An end of a year journal for them to revisit their first grade year with me. Thank you to all of the parents who sent in stuff for the birthday bash. The kids had a great time. Happy Birthday to all! In math we will be practice our math facts with lots of games. We will be finishing up our math book in the next week or so. Please have your child practice their facts over the summer. This will help them greatly in second grade. In Religion we are on the last chapter of the book and will be taking the Unit test sometime this week. Again everyone did a super job in Religion. Below you will find a tentative schedule for the rest of school year. NO SPECIAL FOR THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! Monday June 2nd Mrs. Rose is treating our class to a pizza party! Wednesday June 4th Reading with the 3rd grade class. Thursday June 5th LAST DAY OF SCHOOL Half-day with a closing prayer. Please do not forget to order you Math summer math book the web site is www.summerskills.com/mathdetail.htm This is required and your child will receive a grade next year in 2nd grade. I have also sent home the order form for the back to school Innisbrook order form. If interested please send it in by May 23rd! Please remember to dress your child for the weather.
