Important 1st Grade routines…
* The children will have 2 folders for
which they will be responsible on a daily basis.
- The first
is the ICS DAILY folder, which will carry any important school information
back and
forth. (If you have not already begun
sending information back and forth in
this
folder, please begin doing so.) It is in this folder that school forms, notes,
money
etc.
should be sent to school. (Please be
sure ALL correspondence is labeled with your
child’s
name as well as any other information which will help it be routed to the
correct
place.
Money should ALWAYS be sent in an envelop with your child’s name
as well as
the
purpose of the money!) The children have
learned quickly that the LEFT side of their
folder is
for continuing work and SHOULD NEVER BE REMOVED! The RIGHT
side
of the
folder is labeled EMPTY DAILY and will include your child’s
finished work as
well as
correspondence from myself and/or the school. Any correspondence from you to
the school
should also be placed on the RIGHT side of the folder.
- The second
folder is the children’s green PLASTIC HOMEWORK FOLDER. More
information about the homework folder was sent IN the
homework folder … Please read
the note carefully!
- BOTH FOLDERS SHOULD BE RETURNED DAILY.
* Snack is daily – usually around
that ONLY Water Bottles with SPORTS CAPS will be allowed for
Snack and for quick
drinks after hot
recesses and P.E (We keep our water
bottles at our desk, so we need to
be assured they
will not leak) Juice should only be sent
for lunch…and only if your child has
not ordered milk.
Our lunch period is short…there is no time for students to drink two drink,s
and they are
always welcome to use their water bottles if they are still thirsty.
* Once things get rolling, you can expect a
class newsletter about once a month, however,
please check other areas of the website for
important information which will keep you
abreast of what’s going on in our class and
in the school. Specifically, check out:
